IVF Chelsea can help you determine when the best time for conception is with ultrasound scans and hormone assessments which will help to identify the fertile time of the month and so improve the chances of natural conception. If Pregnancy Ovulation is not occurring, then drugs may be administered after the onset of menstruation to stimulate egg production.
The development of a follicle containing the egg is monitored by ultrasound either on a natural cycle or on a cycle stimulated with fertility medication. When the follicle is seen to be mature, IVF Chelsea will administer an injection which will induce ovulation approximately 36 hours later. At the time of ovulation IVF Chelsea will also obtain a sample of semen from the partner and this will be placed into the uterine cavity via a small catheter through the cervix. IUI Fertility Treatment is generally a painless procedure which takes only a few minutes.
In-vitro Fertilisation literally means fertilisation in a glass, i.e. fertilisation of the egg in the laboratory. By removing the eggs from the woman the fallopian tubes and surrounding area is by-passed and this treatment is the most effective treatment for patients with absent, blocked or damaged tubes or when there is damage to the surrounding structures such as with endometriosis.
For the couple IVF with ICSI is much the same as IVF without. The main difference is in the laboratory. Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection is used when there is a very low sperm count or the sperm have had to be surgically retrieved from the man.
